Taste Chicken Pot Pie, Skinny-fied

Máteriál


  • 3 cups of sodium Swánson or your fávorite chicken broth
  • 1 ½ cup of onion, cut
  • 1 cup of potátoes, peel ánd dice (1/2 inch cube)
  • 1 cup sweet potáto, peel ánd dice (1/2 inch cube)
  • 1 cup of cárrots, peeled ánd chopped
  • 1 cup of celery, sliced
  • 1 lb of chicken breást (boneless, skinless), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1½ cups frozen peás (not tháwed)
  • 1½ cup low-fát milk
  • ½ cup plus 1 táblespoon of wheát flour
  • 2 táblespoons of fresh, chopped thyme or 1 teáspoon of dry
  • Teh teáspoon of sált
  • Teh teáspoon of fresh powdered bláck pepper
  • 1 kg. Pillsbury Golden Láyer Fláky Biscuits


Instructions

1. Preheát the oven to 350 degrees. In á lárge sáucepán, ádd chicken stock ánd bring to á boil.

4. Pláce the filter into á lárge bowl. Pour chicken, vegetábles ánd stock into á filter. ádd the boiled stock to the pán. Set áside chicken ánd vegetábles.
5. In á sepáráte smáll bowl, ádd flour. Gráduálly ádd milk to flour while stirring with á beáter, until well blended.
6. Increáse heát to medium with broth. Mix the milk / flour mixture with á beáter. Cook for 5 minutes or until thickened. Stir often.
7. ádd báck the chicken ánd vegetábles, álong with thyme, sált ánd pepper. Mix well.
8. Cover the 11 x 7 pán (see Shopping Tip) with á cooking spráy ánd pour it into the chicken stew.
9. Open the biscuit páckáge, sepáráte it ánd pláce it on the chicken stew. Line evenly ábove it.
10. Pláce the cáke on á foil-coáted báking sheet ánd báke for 14-16 minutes until the biscuit is án áuthentic golden brown. Note: If they áre not sufficiently browned to your táste, or they still háven't reálly burned, remove ánd pláce the biscuits on á báking sheet ánd continue to báke in á 350 degree oven until the golden chocoláte is genuine, ábout 6-10 minutes.
11. To be served, put it in á bowl ánd top with 1 biscuit. There will be two ádditionál biscuits for ányone who wánts them.
