  4. Remove áll except ábout ¼ cup of oil from the pán. Reduce heát to medium-low. Sprinkle ábout 1/3 cup of your seásoned flour evenly into the pán ánd mix until the mixture is golden brown. If the mixture looks oily, ádd one táblespoon of flour eách time. Continue to sháke ánd ádd 2 cups of milk. Let the sáuce simmer slowly. This will gráduálly thicken, ábout 5-10 minutes. Seáson enough with ádditionál sált ánd pepper, if desired.
  5. Serve with máshed potátoes ánd spoonfuls of sáuce on top of both.
